Acceptance of Terms

T Tutors Pte Ltd (Temasek Tutors) provides matching service between tutors and clients seeking tuition services. By using this website or engaging in our services you explicitly agree to comply with and be legally bounded by the following terms and conditions. Temasek Tutors reserved all rights to amend the terms and conditions at any time.

Definitions

  • References to "Our", "We", "Us" and "Temasek Tutors" shall be references to T Tutors Pte Ltd.
  • References to "You", “Users” and "Your" shall mean references to users visiting this web site, as the context requires.
  • References to "Tutor" or "Tutors" shall be references to users who have registered and maintained an account with Temasek Tutors. He/She has explicitly stated his interest in receiving tutoring assignments.
  • References to "Client", or "Clients" shall be references to person(s) who formally makes a request to engage in Temasek Tutors’s service. He/She has explicitly stated his interest in hiring a tutor from us.
  • References to "Tutor Account Pages" shall mean references to online pages accessible by tutors after they log in to this website, which include, but not restricting to, the Tutor Profile Pages, Edit Profile Pages, Schedule Pages, Profile Photo Pages and Certificates Upload Pages.


Intellectual Properties

All contents found in this website are properties of Temasek Tutors, and re-use of these contents for purposes other than your own non-commercial use is strictly prohibited. No material, graphic or image from this web site may be modified in any manner, or reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, or distributed in any way, without appropriate permissions from Temasek Tutors.

For Tutors

Registration

  1. Registering a tutor account with Temasek Tutors is free.
  2. To register for a tutor account, you must fulfill the following conditions:
    • You must be at least 18 years of age.
    • You must be either a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident.
    • You must be residing in Singapore.
  3. Temasek Tutors reserves all rights to reject or refuse any registrations.

Tutor Account

  1. You must keep the confidentiality of your account registration email and password.
  2. You agree to inform Temasek Tutors in the event of any unauthorized access to your account or any possible breaches of security, as soon as the incident comes to your attention.
  3. You agree to allow Temasek Tutors to send you SMS and call you to match you up with potential tuition assignments.
  4. You will be given a tutor account space identified by a unique tutor ID upon successful registration, to which it will be your responsibility to maintain.
  5. You understand that the information you supply and publish in the tutor account pages should be as accurate as possible, and that you should avoid publishing untrue or inaccurate information which may mislead clients and Temasek Tutors’ coordinators.
  6. You understand that your contact information("Contact Number", "Address", "Postal Code", "Email Address", "URL") are only viewable by yourself and Temasek Tutors, and not made public to other users of this website. You also understand that Temasek Tutors may contact you via phone call and SMS for assignment matching.
  7. You understand that you are prohibited from posting up contact details, or links to your contact details in your Tutor Account Pages which might lead to clients directly contacting you for tuition assignments without going through Temasek Tutors.
  8. You understand that you, and not Temasek Tutors, will be entirely responsible for any issues arising from the information or content you posted up and made public in the tutor account pages.
  9. You understand that Temasek Tutors reserves the right to access your tutor account pages at any time, and to modify any information as the coordinators see fit.
  10. You agree to permit Temasek Tutors access to all uploaded files made available by you using the uploading interfaces provided in the tutor account pages.
  11. You understand that Temasek Tutors may apply modifications to your uploaded certificates and documentations, in the form of changing the file formats (e.g: from .BMP to .JPEG) and the applications of watermarks. Temasek Tutors will not alter any information presented in the uploaded certificates or documents.
  12. You understand that you, and not Temasek Tutors, will be entirely responsible for the validity and accuracy of the contents of your uploaded files.
  13. You understand that Temasek Tutors will not be liable for any issues or damages arising from your failure to comply with the terms of use.
  14. You understand that Temasek Tutors reserves the right to edit, block or terminate any accounts as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  1. You understand that any grades or other qualification information entered and posted by you in the Tutor Account Pages must be as accurate and non-misleading as possible.
  2. You understand that you can choose to not reveal your qualification details or part of your qualification details on your tutor account pages.
  3. You understand that should you wish to not reveal your qualification details on the Tutor Account Pages, you might be given a lower priority in tuition job assignments.
  4. You understand that all uploaded documentations and certifications will be visually checked by Temasek Tutors and compared against the qualification information you provided in the Tutor Account Pages.
  5. You understand that your tutor status will only become verified if all your academic qualification information posted up in your Tutor Account Pages has been supported by valid uploaded documentations and certifications, as verified by Temasek Tutors’ jurisdiction and judgment.
  6. You understand that files you uploaded pertaining to your qualifications may be released by Temasek Tutors to customers who have been assigned to you for the first lesson.
  7. You understand that Temasek Tutors may request from you the original copies of your documentations and certifications for verification purposes.
  8. You understand that Temasek Tutors reserves the right to refuse verification of any tutors, and the right to unverifying any previously verified tutors, dependent upon the judgement and jurisdiction of Temasek Tutors’s coordinators.

Tuition Requests and Assignments

  1. You understand that to assist Temasek Tutors to make better decisions regarding tuition assignments coinciding with your free schedules, you should update your schedule information in your Tutor Account Pages as accurately and regularly as possible.
  2. You understand that registering a Tutor Account with Temasek Tutors does not guarantee tuition assignment jobs to you, as jobs are assigned based on tuition demand and how well tutors match up with the customer’s requirements.
  3. You understand that once you accepted a tutoring assignment, the rate is non-negotiable once agreed upon.

First Lesson

  1. You are to bring along your certifications and documentations for your first lessons with the customer for verification purposes.
  2. If the customer is not satisfied with your tuition services, Temasek Tutors will follow up with you regarding the future arrangements after discussing with the customer. You may not be paid for the first lesson in such a scenario.
  3. If you are unable to make it to the first lesson of a tuition job assigned to you by Temasek Tutors for any reason, you are to call up Temasek Tutors at least 3 days before the actual lesson, unless otherwise stated.
  4. In relation to the above agreement terms, if you fail to call up Temasek Tutors to inform your absence from the lesson with a valid reason, your tutor account may be terminated by Temasek Tutors. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  5. By failing to turn up for the first lesson of a tuition job which has been accepted and confirmed by you, Temasek Tutors may lower your priority when assigning tuition jobs in the future.

Cancellation of Assignments

  1. The customer reserves the right to cancel or withdraw his/her tuition requests or assignment at any time.
  2. Temasek Tutors will not be liable for any payment charges or issues arising from the cancellation of tuition assignments by the customers.
  3. If you wish to cancel a tuition assignment before the first month, you are to inform both Temasek Tutors and the customer at least 3 days before the next lesson date.

Commission Fees

  1. Temasek Tutors will be taking 50% of the first month’s, or first 4 weeks’ tuition fee as commission from the client. The commission is due when half the amount of the lessons agreed for the first month or first 4 week is delivered.
  2. In the event that a tutoring assignment is cancelled by the client before the tutor completes the agreed number of lessons for the first month or first 4 weeks, Temasek Tutors will be taking 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered in the month.
    e.g: If the client has requested for 8 lessons per month, but the assignment was cancelled after the 5th lesson, Temasek Tutors will be taking commission for the 5 lessons conducted.
  3. In the event of cancellation/postponing of lessons in the first month, unless otherwise stated, Temasek Tutors assumes full claim to the afore-mentioned commission when half the agreed number of lessons per month is met, regardless of the actual amount of lessons completed in the first month, or the first 4 weeks.
    e.g: If the client has requested for 8 lessons per month, Temasek Tutors is entitled commission for the first 8 lessons. If the actual number of lessons carried out in the month is less than 8 lessons, Temasek Tutors still assumes full claim to 8 lessons of commission. This commission is due after the 4th lesson.
  4. In the scenario that the tuition assignment was cancelled by the customer after the first lesson, Temasek Tutors will be taking a commission equivalent to 50% of that lesson's fees, unless otherwise indicated.

Conduct of Tutors

Although Temasek Tutors cannot assume any responsibilities for the tutors’ conduct during tutoring assignments, issues pertaining to this are treated very seriously. If it comes to Temasek Tutors attention that registered tutors displayed inappropriate conducts during assignments, as deemed by Temasek Tutors, penalties will be imposed on the tutor’s account, which may including terminating the account or lower the priority of future tutoring assignments.

For Clients requesting for Tutor

  1. You understand that Temasek Tutors aims to be as accurate as possible in the description of the tutors. However, Temasek Tutors does not guarantee the data to be complete, accurate, reliable, current and error-free.
  2. You understand that the preferred tutors you requested are subjected to availability. While Temasek Tutors seeks to fulfill your request to the best of our ability, we do not guarantee the availability of the preferred tutors.
  3. You understand that the tutoring rates stated on this website only serves as a guide and the final rate is subjected to negotiation between you, Temasek Tutors and the tutor.
  4. You understand that the rate is non-negotiable once agreed upon.
  5. You understand that, unless otherwise stated, the tuition will take place at your place of residence.
  6. You understand that you will be given one trial lesson to evaluate the tutor. If you terminate the service after the first lesson, you are liable to pay for the amount of lessons provided.
  7. You understand that Temasek Tutors will be charging half of the first month’s tuition fee as commission for services rendered. The bill will be mailed or e-mailed to you two weeks after the tuition commences.
  8. You understand that payment should be made by you to Temasek Tutors directly, unless otherwise stated. Tutors should not collect the payment on Temasek Tutors’ behalf.
  9. You will not violate any laws, third party rights or any of our policies
  10. You will not provide false, inaccurate or misleading information
  11. You will not fail to deliver payment for services rendered by Temasek Tutors
  12. You will not circumvent, manipulate our billing process, commission structure or commission owed to Temasek Tutors.
  13. You will not transfer your requested assignment or account to a third party without our consent
  14. You will not collect information about other users without our consent


Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

The terms of use shall be deemed to be a contract made in Singapore and shall be subject to, governed by, and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore for every purpose.

No Warranties

THIS SITE, THE MATERIALS, AND THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT USE OF THIS SITE, INCLUDING ALL CONTENT OR DATA DISTRIBUTED BY, DOWNLOADED OR ACCESSED FROM OR THROUGH THIS SITE, IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT AS TO THE INFORMATION, MATERIALS, AND CONTENT ON THE SITE. WE DO NOT REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT MATERIALS IN THIS SITE ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS OR OMISSIONS RELATING TO PRICING, TEXT OR PHOTOGRAPHY.

Limitation of Liability

TEMASEK TUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF DATA) WHETHER IN AN ACTION IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO NEGLIGENCE), EQUITY OR OTHERWISE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH THE USE OF THIS SITE, THE MATERIALS OR SERVICES.
